What are your reasons for not spending much time in the HubPages forums?

Are your reasons good reasons? If what prevents you from spending much time in the HubPages forums is solved or gotten rid of, how much more time do you think you'd start spending in the forums?

my reasons are that the religious folk seem to have taken it over in so many cases. if i see "thank god" much more, i'm going to pull my hair out.

In the past I've spent time in forums of different varieties on many different sites. I was even once made a moderator for a forum that was focused on improving social skills. The problem I find with forums is that often they can be time consuming. I haven't participated in any forum discussions on any sight in about four years.

As my interest in HP grows I will eventually dip into the forums. But to be honest I doubt that I will spend a great deal of time there. I know from personal experience that forums can be both useful and distracting. I'm sure there is a lot of great ideas, content and insights to be found in the forum. However HP already consumes enough of my time without me even going to the forums as it is.

I do not like the format of the forum. Because you respond to a person, you get a lot of repetition of the statement and your response may not follow in the order you expected.

Also, people go on and on about the same thing. I was once told five times in a forum that I did not understand a certain point of view. I understood it, I just did not accept it and they could not accept that.

I've ran into rude monitors before on other sites. I just don't want to take the chance of encountering another, so I stay away from forums now. Besides with space for comments for our hubs and a place to post questions and answers I don't see any reason to join the forums.

My reasoning is purely a time thing.  I go in there and post on occasion if I think I might be able to add to the conversation or if I have a question about something.  Other than that, I don't spend much time there or in any other forums at all.  I'm usually busy writing here and other places or taking time for non-computer life things.

I look at the forums, and have participated a few times. But there seems to be a lot of arguing going on there. Some people find that entertaining, but I do not enjoy it. It there is a subject that interests me, like the recent rash of hub copying, I will read it through for information.

My first reason is lack of time. I teach, and am no longer as strong as I was some years back, so I keep my energy and my time for researching and writing Hubs, and commenting which I enjoy a lot.

I have read through some threads in the Forum, and it seems to me that several start of fine, and then seem to fade in interest. And I've also noticed that some threads get pretty rough, with harsh comments. I have no time for that.

I like the comments and the questions much more.

Its more like, could you obfuscate the location of the forums just a little more so I can't locate the complete set of forums, this forum page is distracting and not really helping.. Less is more people, less is more..
