I find that I spend at least 3 to 4 hours reading and researching a topic before I even start to write my hub. Maybe that's why I average one hub a week. :) Do you have any hints or tips for speeding up the process?

Of course books reviews count! Sometimes, those can be the hardest things to write about. :)
Thank you, UnnamedHarald, it's nice to know I'm not struggling alone. :)
I try to find the perfect picture to go along with my writing and sometimes it seems to take forever. And then, there is that slight character flaw - I get distracted by some cool picture and I have to stop and check it. Down the rabbit hole I go. :)
Thank you, molometer! I thought I was the only slow hubber. :) I guess it all depends on available time, resources and personal writing style. Good thing we don't have a book like mechanics do that states how long a job will take. I'd be fired. :)
Those are some great tips, thank you, Cam Anju!
Thank you, cheaptoys. I try to do a combinaton of both. I start with something I know and then research it to make sure I'm current and get the latest facts. I appreciate your input. :)
Thank you, lburmaster. I think an outline might actually help me out and organize my thoughts and research. Thank you for the idea. :)
