If I remember correctly - there was a huge article in the WSJ about Google changing their search software or some such thing - and small businesses were complaining bitterly because Google now determines for us what "spam" is. In other words, they have something akin to a new "filter" for websites Google believes are spammers - and it is now excluding even those who are not spamming. Several businesses in the article complained that they never spammed - they would just add their link to every signature (for example) but Google doesn't like that (obviously Google wants you to PAY THEM to have your link appear anywhere) so doing that - putting your link at the end of your blog - etc. would constitute "spam" therefore - Google would drop your website link to the bottom of the pile. One guy said his business would always be within the top of the search results, now - he can't find his own link no matter how many pages he goes to after trying to do a search with what used to be his key words. Maybe that is what your problem is for you both. I have to say, I hate Google anyway. Did you know that whenever you do a search - Google brings results Google THINKS you want. Not the actual results that are out there - but results based on your previous searches or shopping habits. So for example - if I am a libertarian, and I type in the words, "Abe Lincoln" my results would be completely different than if a liberal friend of mine typed in the exact same thing for a search. That is just one of the reasons I try never use Google.
