What would you choose - A brilliant piece of long text or a short hub with very clear descriptive photos and videos?

Although I respect both formats; due to time constraints, my preference is a short brilliant hub with or without pictures or videos.

It would depend on what the hub was about. Some hubs don't need pictures, but it I'm going to read a long hub with no pictures, it better be fascinating.

IF you prefer to write long articles, just be sure to put them into small paragraphs.  Today's reader has a short attention span.  A short paragraph with a photo alongside is what I generally do and I prefer less than 1,000 words.

Thank you very much. I quite agree with you on this. In this age where one is bombarded by data left, right and center, it is essential that the text be short and supported by descriptive illustrations.

I'm not a pictures person.  I'm a words person.  I assume that's because I'm an auditory learner/processor, rather than a visual learner/processor,  So, for me, unless the pictures are breathtakingly beautiful, I'd even rather have a non-brilliant, words-only Hub than one that chops up the orderly presentation of words with a bunch of pictures.

From what I've read of "conventional Internet wisdom", I'm apparently in a minority (so don't go by what I say).  I also hate words all chopped up into short blocks and instead want to see words the way they show up in books (or on Kindle):  All in one, big, giant, block of text.    lol

I always prefer a very clear descriptive hub. Short or long that doesn't matter but the hub should have only the relevant points according to the title.

Not too long i don't think, well at least not on hubpages.  And as for pictures and videos - i suppose you should think of your hubs as buried time capsules, in the thinking that if you unearthed these hubs years later - you would think it would be a bit boring to find just one thing - regardless of how great it actually might be.
