What's your reason behind commenting to a hub but not following?

I just noticed that there are hubbers who sometimes uncheck the follow checkbox as they comment on a hub, What could be the reason behind this? Is it a good thing, a bad thing, or neither?

Well said Larry. The most important followers are the loyal readers who have an interest in your work. Reciprocation is nice but if it is not followed up with purpose it is an empty statistic.
