I see a new change !
What purpose do the like and share buttons serve on the questions & answers?
I'm new here, but two days ago when there were the (+1) buttons, I as well as another writer got a (-1) although neither of us had insulted anyone or used improper language. I posed a question to this on that page and the next day I saw the new buttons. Perhaps it's to try provoke friendlier and fairer responses (?).
I don't really see how the thumbs up button does anything. It has no number, so no real indicator of how your answer is doing.
I think the like and share buttons are for questions people are intensely interested in and the answer where informative or amusing so they wanted to share the question with other people they thought may feel the same way. I have found questions that where packed with information.
There were share buttons in the old format of the Q&A as well. They were less noticeable though because they were directly under the question rather than being at the right-hand side.
Occasionally I share my Questions on Twitter to bump up reads of the page, if my Followers relate to the topic.

Is anyone else missing all of their share buttons? I can't even share on HP never mind FB or Twitter. I have no share buttons on my page. At first thought it was my iPad, but its my computer too.

How do you feel about the Share buttons now being fixed at the top of the page?I liked I when it was at the bottom of the page or when it traveled down as we read. I don't know if I want to share until I read the hub. I forget to go back up and share when I am commenting and voting.

As the image shows, with the new longer ads, the social media buttons have been relocated to the absolute rock bottom position on the page - in the right column below the comments. Social media referrals are very important for short term and long term traffic, especially Pinterest, Facebook and...

The social network share button in hubs is too small for people to notice.I feel that if it is made larger more people can like/share our hubs, given they like it.
