Ideas come from stimuli in your brain. I can be clueless as what to write about and then I see or hear something that stimulates my mind and then I come up with an idea. Occasionally. lol
Every thought that you have ever had has been already thought of a million times by millions of people throughout linear time, so to answer your question, they are given to you without you even being aware of them.
Your subconscious mind or soul/spirit anticipates your need before you even know you need it and provides a link to the ultimate computer (ether) designed by the creator for every incarnated soul in 3 dimensional space.
We on Earth have been conditioned to believe that ideas come from our brain, which is absurd when you stop and think about it. Our brain are simple memory chips designed to organize experiences into thought processes.
Ideas come from a power way beyond our brain's capacity, the Pineal Gland is our browser and each soul has it's own unique personality, yet ultimately is here to achieve a common goal which is to enlighten our minds that we have access to a great deal of knowledge given to us by the Creator.

The soul, by definition, is meta-physical and is thought that the soul would be connected to the brain, not within the brain. It used to be thought that the soul resided in your heart - but getting a heart transplant doesn't make you into a different person. So - if some time in the future -...

A theist asked me to start a separate thread for this. I refused at first, but then I thought "why not?"Let's understand first that I am not against religion per se. I believe it can help some people. I do not think that religious belief indicates a lack of intelligence either. In fact,...
