   Why did the views of my hubs drastically go down in the beginning of this month?
   
   They peaked and then they went down more than 6 times in a single day. Did Google or HubPages did something in the beginning of this month?

   I asked about this in the forum and the answer I got was yes Google along with Hubpages tinkering with the idle hubs thing. I did see a slight rise this weekend but no where near back up to where I was, I took a BIG hit!

      Yep me too.  Traffic is down 50% from where it was at the end of August, and I don't see how it can have anything to do with idle hubs as I do not have any.  Can anyone explain this?

      I can't wrap my head around how my idle (seasonal) hubs would make all of the other drop either. I assume because my search traffic is what took the big hit that it was Google.

   I have this issue too. It jumped on the 4th, almost no google love since. I don't have any idle hubs either.

   My Google traffic is actually up but I've had a couple of those huge drops in the past. They can last several weeks but the traffic always comes back. Just keep writing and the traffic will improve at some point.

   Like Learn Things Web I have had an increase in traffic (especially from Google) post the "idle hub" changes at the beginning of the month. But traffic changes are partly random as well (and sometimes seasonal too) so it can be really hard to separate out what affects it and what doesn't.

   My traffic is up.  I am guessing that yes, something was tweaked.  I am almost back where I was in April before I had a huge traffic crash.

   I have lost almost 80% of my traffic since the last week in August.  The best I can tell there was a Panda update on 8/20/12 that really hit a lot of us hard. 
   
   It would be nice if Hubpages staff posted something about this to at least clarify what is going on.

      I actually feel a little better to hear that I'm not the only one. Not that I'd wish it on my worst enemy. Most of my previously top performing that got lots of google traffic are getting none now.

   I don't know, but I'd like to know because I'm experiencing the same thing. Starting at the beginning of September, my traffic is down about 50%. I imagine it has something to do with the "idle hubs" thing - I guess the benefits just haven't caught up yet. I don't have any idle hubs, though.
   
   I expect it'll get better, anyways.

   Don't rely so heavily on HubPages and Google for your traffic. Try to get regular readers from forums and other online groups. It takes some extra effort but the traffic you pull in yourself will be steadier than random Google search traffic.

    There are a few reasons, either you are the bulk of your views, it counts a view when you are reading your own article, this is why we can accumulate views in editing mode, or you write technology hubs and the technology is now out of date, or old news, or Google has decided to have a reshuffle and moved you down on the page rankings, or you have stopped reading other hubbers things, so they have stopped reading yours.

    I took a huge hit as well.  I was getting 300 views a day on one of my hubs it is at about half now.
