If I delete a hub, how can I retain proof that I am the original author?

If I delete a hub, and it exists somewhere else on the internet (i.e. someone stole it), is there something I should to to retain proof that I was the original author?

Even though none of my hubs are Zzz'd. since the idle feature came along my google traffic has completely evaporated. It very frustrating when I watched them climb slowly all these months. I'm thinking about moving my hubs.

What if I wanted to publish it somewhere else that doesn't allow duplicate content though? Would it show as a duplicate even if it was unpublished?
