Why has my profile page layout changed without my say-so?  I don't like it - do others agree?

Why, not having changed the layout of my profile page, has it changed anyway?  I do not like the new layout and do not wish to have it, which is why I haven't changed it myself.  I'm beginning to fall out with hubpages - hubhopping has changed for the worse and now the profile layout - what next?  Do others agree and what can we do about it?

They mentioned months ago about how the new layout was on a trial basis, and then last week or so they mentioned in either the newsletter or the blog that it was going to change for everyone. They need to keep things the same for everyone so that site-wise HP looks good.

If you don't like the hub hopper, you can click a button to go back to the classic hopper. I personally like the new one and I know it helps the staff determine which hubs need to be looked at a bit closer.

All of these changes are designed to make things better for all of us. Yes, they take some getting used to, but if they help the site and us earn some more money, I'm all for change.

Yes, I can see your point.  I suppose it's individual choice and we have to be democratic!  I'll keep finding out more about it all.  Thanks for commenting.

I don't like it at all. It sucks. I want them to change it back.

So do I but I guess we have to go with the flow!

I changed mine. I have to admit, while I don't like change, I do think the new profile format is more pleasing to the eye.

I thought the hub hopping went back to the old way.

There is little we can do as it is a free site and a private owned site....so if we don't like it, I guess we can find some place else to go.

I see your point.  However, I don't want to go elsewhere as I find hubpages a great place to be.  I just don't know why a good format has to be changed - if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

I agree. I thought we would have the choice to change or not. I guess that has changed to it being mandatory...which I don't agree with at all.  Writing is art and you should be able to choose how it is presented.

i've been away for a week and when i came on hubpages today, i noticed the change. i don't like it in the least and i don't think it is right for them to change my layout without giving me a choice. i don't need to see every hub i've written, it's a waste of my time.

They sent a notice around to everyone that all of the profile pages were going to be changed to the new one. The idea is to keep them more uniform and still give us a chance to do our own artistic background. The profile page is not for us anyway, it is for the readers. This is supposed to give them an instant look at what we write. I am getting used to it now and am liking it more.
The hubhopper has an option to use the old way. I like it a lot better too. I quit using it when it went to the new way and now I am back to using it. I can only handle about 15 minutes of it a day. Anyone have an idea on how to get all the business and tech off of it?

I missed the notice, so that's my fault.  However, I'm all for making things better for the whole, even if I'm still not happy with it.  Thanks for explaining the reason behind the reader's view.  I agree with you regarding the hub-hopper.  Thanks
