Since I joined 5 months ago, it was the first time, it went down yesterday. May be it was due to maintenance or some other issue.

I have been on HP for over a year and a half. Yesterday was my first experience of this. When I contacted them via Twitter and FB, they messaged me straight back and got the site up and running again in a few hours.

This was my first time too. I decided to save all my hubs on my harddrive

Always good to write your hubs and save them, then paste them to the hub capsules. Otherwise something may go wrong and your hard work will be lost.

Don't get excited the hub pages website goes down from time to time for regular maintenance, which is nothing new.

I've never seen it happen before, but I understand that stuff happens.  It isn't really a big deal and they fixed it and were in communication the whole time.  I think a lot of people don't truly appreciate what goes into keeping sites (especially massive ones with tons of data) up and running 24/7 without any problems.

I agree with Christin - the back-end work for a site like this is massive, and the site is always responsive.  There have been numerous improvements to the site since the first of the year, and they keep rolling out more new features.

I've been here just over a month and the most recent downtime was a doozy. The worst part was it would appear to come back but certain parts were still dead. It was like it was re-booting over a few hours. It's not the first time I've seen it down, either, since coming here, but it was the biggest.

If there is to be some regular maintenance then most sites forewarn you, so I don't think that's what these glitches were.

That is the first time I recall it going down and I have been here nearly a year.  However, there were times during that year I did not sign on much because of other responsibilities.

The only time I remember HubPages being down for any length of time was in December of 2006 a few months after I joined.  As I recall, it was down for about an hour and there was no message other than a "server not found" that appeared when I attempted to access it.

Since then I think there have been three or four occasions when I have received a message to the effect that HubPages was down for maintenance.  On these occasions HubPages was either off for a very short time (minutes) or I happened to access HubPages  a few minutes before the team finished and put the site back online.

However, these few times I have encountered the site being down has at most been a very minor and short inconvenience.

I have personally never experienced Hubpages go down nor have I ever heard of it.

My experience is that it rarely goes down.  In my 2+ years here, I can only remember two instances which includes the one this week.  ~WB

I have been on Hubpages for last 3 years and it is second time that I remember it was down. So I had forgotten that it happened it last time was well about 2 years back. I usually dont get worried because I know it is too big a site to go down for ever.
