Is Hubpages geared so that only USA based writers are able to make any serious money?
I've noticed that many opportunities in Hubpages are USA centric eg "Happy October" suggesting hubbers write about Halloween, fall etc etc. Where I live there is no such thing as Halloween and its Spring. I suspect that my opportunties to attract readers, followers and dollars is not nearly as good as USA based Hubbers..am I alone in this suspicion?
Sure I can write about anything, but is the hubpages machine geared to USA readers and consequently benefit USA based hubbers?
I seriously doubt it since HP does not control the Internet Search engines or those who search for information. You write for readers, for those searching not for what you may or may no do yourself. I see you are from India, maybe you could do a brief introduction about Halloween being celebrated in the USA, but at this time of year, India does not do this, but they do have fun festivals in the fall.
Thanks for your suggestion..good idea..(I'm from Australia..my profile pic is photo I took of a clothes dummy in India)
I just found sites where Australia celebrates All Hallow's Eve, and kids dress up in costumes, etc. This history of Halloween does not match how we celebrate it here in the USA. So All Hallow's Eve and how it is celebrated would be a good topic too.
Well, yes, it is geared toward "US" writers because that is where a majority of writers here are from! So, it makes sense if Hubpages tries to help writers write for an American audience! But I am pretty sure you'll make money off your hubs no matter who views them! Just write either for specific keywords or what you enjoy writing about, as you would at any other website like this! After you get content, you'll eventually start making money!
Also, I looked at your hubs - you need more specific titles. "Dog Food" and such are not very good for a title because these aren't descriptive keywords. You should look at the google adwords keyword tool. If you don't care about gaining traffic, it
Thanks for your comments. Re/ specific titles eg Dog food, I recently changed it to that as that hub had been ZZZ. Once i changed it to Dog Food it was put back on the web!..go figur

No, I don't believe it is geared to US writer's success. Remember when you make money, Hubpages makes money so they have no reason to want it to be US specific.
Hubpages cannot afford to ignore our holidays - this is, afterall, where the site is based. US holidays will be a massive money maker for hubbers and Hubpages.
And I am from the US and I have not made a dime. So...?

Google says no nudity. These hubs violating policy. The so called authors of these hubs are very clever. They become fan of any one and in return they get fans. Thus they have maximum number of fans. As these galeries need no intellectual, they publish number of hubs. This way they get highest...

I just read a Hub that said that the author was going to go to the freelance website and pay people to write articles for him that he would put on HubPages to make himself money from. That can't be okay with the HubPages site, is it? A couple of people commented, including an author that I have...

This one is going to be fun! What I've observed on the forums is that there are a few, kind of unwritten cliques of hubbers who consider themselves 'experts' in almost everything and kind of try to 'educate' newcomers as if one must submit before them because these veteran hubbers have won Nobel...

Hi friends,I have today noticed a very disturbing automated content attack on most of my hubs. I suspect many other hubbers may also suffer from this.It is basically working like this. For example, my original hub is here:http://hubpages.com/hub/HTC-Evo-4G-CasesThe spammer opened an account by the...
