Is it a good idea to break up my long and well performing hubs into two or more?

I notice that most of my well performing hubs are long ones about literature. Would I be able to boost earning potential if I broke these into two or three hubs? Some of these articles and essays are over 1,000 words and some about 1,500.

Interesting. I was hoping it would be like a "to be continued" and I could get more views by them reading the remaining sections in a new hub.

I like the idea of trying with a lower performing hub first. Thanks.
