but Squidoo has a tiered payout structure and if you have lots of readers it may be good but if you don't know how to market your lenses (assuming you don't have a following yet) it's worthless
Nice to see an honest answer from someone else with experience in earning passive income online.
Hubpages works for every person while to make money out from squidoo , you got to have lot of fan following .
Yes it is easy to use but the recent drop of traffic makes that relatively useless. Whether you are after money or views a drop in traffic is bad news.
I agree with your comment about all the spam accounts. I used to like HubPages a lot more but in the past year the number of overly promotional and spam hubs has put a bitter taste in my mouth for HP
Well it is nicer to use than say Experts column and easier than Wordpress but i think the confusion at the top outweighs the ease of use. But then maybe I have a different take on ease of use
Yea they suck! All Voice is actually pretty good, but as far as ease of formatting I think HP is the best!
On point one I disagree. Those who lost traffic to quality hubs recently would also disagree.
ON point 2 I agree but I would like my statistics to show earnings as well as views
On point 3: the more time networking means less time writing
Traffic -- check Quantcast.com. Even with Squidoo's recent troubles, it gets better traffic. And see above about making about five times more, on average, per article, on Squidoo.
I made my own websites for about 15 years before joining both sites.
You echo my thoughts. But HTML is relatively easy to deal with. If need be get an offline WYSIWYG editor, get the effect you want and then look at the generated HTML. Unless you are using FrontPage this can easily be streamlined then pasted in.
Yeah, I don't know why so many people consider this a deal-breaker when deciding whether to build their own sites or stick with limited platforms like HP. HP may do all the hard work, but then they take 40% of the revenue, so it's not really free.
