PaoloJpm I would continue to work on basic writing and grammar skills. Read other Hubs that are similar to your and compare the grammar with yours. Work on the titles of your Hubs--check the keyword tool. Read the learning center tutorials over and over. I've read most of them several times in the few months I've been writing for Hubpages. When you choose to write on a topic, choose one that will be useful for years not just once. Look at your culture: maybe something like a recipe for something you like to make. Hope this helps--good luck!

Keyword research is vital. Before coming up with a hub, decide what keywords to target. Pick one that has an average of at least 500k per month. The Google Adwords Keyword Tool can be of great help to you in this case. Choose long-tail keywords as they tend to have better potential. For example, the keyword "love" might have billions of views per month but ranking your hub with this keyword is close to impossible. Choose "best love quotes for her" or "best love quotes for him" instead. These keywords might only have an average of 200k monthly views but they offer a higher chance of ranking. Some of my hubs are on the first page of Google results even without back-linking services, forum and blog commenting, and other serious SEO strategies. Finally, incorporate photos and videos to your hubs. Creating one that has at least 1k words can also make it more search-engine friendly. Use your keyword phrase at most 2 times in the whole Hub. Exaggerating it will only leave a bad impression to search engine crawlers that you are merely spamming. Good luck and God bless!

It depends on what kind of strategy are you opting for.
From organic traffics/searches? Paid services such as pay-per-click?
All in all, the most vital issue to work on are the right keywords to implement and thereafter, proper SEO for a great headstart. How to go about it? Well there actually a number of ways. And one of them would be as suggested by dailytop10. The internet has open our our horizon to knowledge and information. Therefore, utilize it. smile
After you have gotten that work out, its time to build quality backlinks. These are very important step to ensure that Google or whatever search engine recognizes you as a reliable source. Again, there are many way to go about it which in this comment itself will not be able to fill up.
In general, here are the steps. Work and practise as you go along. You'll definitely get the hang of it.
    Cheers
