How do you promote your hubs without bombarding your followers?

Are there any communities (like google+), websites, or forums that you like to post your hubs to? What are some different ways to get traffic to your hubs? I promote my blog on twitter and pinterest, but haven't started promoting my hubs yet. Although at times I feel like I'm bombarding my twitter followers with links. Does anyone else feel this way and is there a way to balance everything?

I like the idea of no having to post anything. The reason I like to promote on a few different websites is to reach more people who typically wouldn't have seen my post or hub. Are you articles SEO friendly?

Thanks for commenting! There just seems to be so many websites that I can promote on, that I forget about a good majority of them during the actual promotion process.
