Is HubPages really a blog or perhaps it is better described as an online magazine?

I have been struggling with the term "blog". I hate to say it but I am insulted to say that I "blog". When I compare the body of work here on HP with "blogs", I see a different quality standard. There has been allot of talk (to ad nauseam in my humble opinion) about the Google Panda in the search engines quest to deliver better content. Are we selling ourselves short? Shouldn't we be promoting HubPages as your source for a digital magazine? And shouldn't we offer the reader the option of turning pages like a magazine/book rather than the scrolling like a blog? Your thoughts? Suggestions?
