Two words my friend, "Google adsense." Just make sure to write around 15-20 good quality hubs before trying yo apply. Too many make that mistake of applying too soon.
I promote a lot using Facebook and it has gained me a lot of views. As soon as my hubs finish going through the 24 hour quality assesment, I post a link on my facebook. Social networking sites are excellent for obtaining views.
I don't have any social networking accounts and don't want to spend/waste my time on them. So to promote my hubs I like to comment on other hubs, answer questions, comment on high traffic blogs (linking my hubpage profile to my name), and having Pinterest friendly pictures. Pinterest friendly pictures are a great way to get exposure because visitors of your hubs will pin and share them for you. Hope this helps and you have a great day~
Thanks for sharing your experiences!!! But, how do you link your hubpage profile to your name, when you comment on high traffic blogs?
Most blogs will have a comment form. The form will ask your name, e-mail address, and your site. I copy and paste my hubpages profile url to the your site box on the comment. When someone clicks on my name, it takes them to my hubpages profile.
I'm new to this, so take my advice with a grain of salt! However, in my 6 days of writing Hubs, I've racked up over 200 views, so I believe I'm doing something right.
The first thing I'd say is to make sure you're writing about things you truly care about and understand. The best promotion you can get is good content, because if you're able to fill a niche by meeting a need that's not being met already (or meeting it in a way that it isn't already being met), your material WILL be seen, even if only by your fellow Hubbers.
I've had limited success with social media; so far, Facebook hasn't really given me any traction but I'm starting to see things trickle through from Twitter. I'm writing a guitar-related blog and I play in a popular New England band, so I think a little crossover traffic is working in my favor.
But so far, other than HubPages itself, the single biggest source of traffic for me has come from submitting my Hubs' URLs to StumbleUpon.com. It's not exactly been a deluge, but if I leave a Hub up for a day on its own, it might garner 10 views from HP initially. If I put it up on StumbleUpon the following day, it's almost guaranteed to accrue an additional 20 hits over a day or so. Again, not huge, but it gives my views a shot in the arm almost instantly.
So, good luck to you in your promotional efforts! I hope this information helps.

In another forum topic thread someone mentioned Niome as a blogging site. I quickly created two posts for the site--both under 300 words. One was new content and one was a rehash of a hub I did. I wanted to link the rehash to my hub. I just added the short url that HP provides. I've search...

Just wondering if it is spamming to submit your hubs to the same social networking sites more than once? For example, if you wait a week or so between and you are trying to get your hub more traffic can you submit it again to Twitter or Facebook? Or is this a bad idea. Also if so then how long...

Hey Hubpages Staff,I've been a member for 15 months now and have been told countless times that "Share with Followers" is NOT to be used by the author of a hub. Then why is it that the FEED is loaded with Hubbers promoting their own work?

Are you promoting your site through social networking sites? If yes then what you feel it works?

I'm relatively new to Hubpages, and so far I've published three articles. However, the view numbers are pretty small, and I'd like to increase them. I'm currently writing some more Hubs right now, but any tips that you'd like to share, I'd really appreciate them
