What do you think about hubpages' ad policy?

   What do you think about hubpages' ad policy?
   
   How do you feel about hubpages' practice to disable ads on good quality hubs, if the topic is deemed unsuitable? Isn't that putting a moral control on us authors that could be destructive over the long-term? For example female health issues can hardly been addressed without getting banned from the ads program - that inevitably leads to hub authors avoiding sensitive topics like this. So ad-makers are having a major influence on the information we are exposed to - or in worst case - denied. How do you feel about this issue?

   To be honest, it doesn't matter how I feel about it - I either write here and accept the status quo or leave. Hubpages has to follow Google adsense policies to the letter because it is dependent on the revenue the ads bring. Just one page that violates Googles TOS can get the whole website's adsense account disabled, so HP tend to err on the side of caution.
   
   No ads = no Hubpages.

   Companies that create the ads to display via Google adsense also have to follow Google's advertising policies to the letter or they are disabled (each and every ad is reviewed by a human).
   
   So I'd say if you want to point the finger at anyone about the types of ads that can be displayed look to Google. They make the rules.

      Yes, maybe I should have rather asked 'What do you think about Google's Ad Policies'. The objective of the question is mainly to get a bigger picture of the overall athmosphere amongst hub authors when it comes to freedom of speech versus Google Ads.

   This is why so many great hubbers have left Hubpages. Even though they already had a HUGE following. I am debating if I am going to stay or not. I am an educator, That is my #1 priority. I cant just write about nonsense just to appear in the hub of the day, or to pop up my score. Remember, not everyone has that kind of commitment to stick to their writing. But on the other hand, Susana is right, the house always wins. That is why most people have blogs.( they have adsense too)Having 2 blogs, I have Never been in the Google black list, so the conclusion is clear.
   
   PS: There are millions of products and ads that have to do with health and education.I know, they advertise in my blogs, with adsense. Just not here.

      Thanks for sharing ananceleste. I had no idea that successful hubbers were actually leaving hubpages. I like the maintanace free concept of HP vs my own blog, which needs constant attention... but I guess in the long run your own blog will earn more.
