   How often should hubs be updated and what percentage of the text should be changed?
   
   When updating hubs, is it enough to change the items that are advertised for sale or is it necessary to alter the text? We all want to keep in Google's good book, so is it 10 % of text should be rewritten?

   I personally don't think about updating hubs through percentages. I kind of doubt (but I could be wrong) Google has a magic percentage guideline for editing. I'm curious to see what others say. My fear is I will inadvertently change something that is pulling in traffic. ugh!
   I've been slowly working my way through my hubs and fixing them for different reasons. Here are some of the things I do (in case anyone is interested) ...
   
   -I research my title and subtitles and edit them if needed. (I use the Google keyword tool and do my own random searches to see what the competition is doing) The HP title tuner on the acct. page can help. Look at the info on your respective Webmaster Tools, see what people are searching for and how they got to your page.
   -I sometimes add another relevant text box; make the hub more comprehensive.
   -I'm reducing all of my Amazon and Ebay capsules down to two.
   -I'm also reducing any over-zealous linking I may have done early on.

      I have never used Webmaster tools, I need to look into that. I also think I have been over zealous with my Amazon and Ebay capsules. As for changing a well performing hub...'if it ain't broke, don't fix it', springs to mind. Thanks Miss Olive

   This is a good question but I don't think there is a straight answer. The best thing you can do if you want the best answer is to go on Webmasters blog forum - there are some wizard brains who may be able to give you a specific figure.
   
   As for me I tootle along, adjusting old hubs by:
   
   * completely revamping....scrapping titles and text boxes and creating virtually a new hub from old ruins.
   * re-reading and editing/updating/rearranging
   * adding better pictures.
   * reviewing links.
   * following the HP 'goal' capsule to reach evergreen status.
   
   I'm not so skilled with SEO so cannot really help you there.
   
   As a very experienced hubber once reminded me - you can spruce up your old hubs as much as you want but you'll still get 80% of traffic from 20% of your hubs?
   That may be true but I still think old underperforming hubs should be worked on.

      The 80-20 rule does apply. I keep nurturing some poor performers, but maybe I should cut my losses and spend time writing new ones. You have some good ideas which I shall have to get into gear. Thanks for your help.

   I try to update all of my hubs at least once a year. I don't have a set % for changing the text. It really varies for different articles. Sometimes I feel like an article needs a major overhaul while other times it just needs a little formula tweaking. Best of luck!

      Gosh, yearly? I was thinking monthly. I do think I have been lazy and need to rewrite some, delete others and just shake things up a bit. Thanks for your ideas.
