In your point of view. What is a good commentator to you?
A good comment is one that is specific, thoughtful, and appreciative. As long as it highlights a specific point, it can go one to congratulate (say, on Hub of the day); to appreciate or admire; to expand a bit (but not take over the topic); to ask a question; or even to disagree.
The comment comes from a collegial place, encouraging reading and thinking in the readers and for the hub's author, not an egoistic place of trying to prove something, trying to take over the topic, or being critical.
A person who consistently leaves comments like this is, in my view, a good commentator.
A good commentator would be one that continually leaves comments on answers, hubs, in forums, etc. One who is a vast part of the hubpages community.
A good commentator is one that is active in at least two of the three areas, with hubs having to be one. Secondly, the good commentator will not only leave praise, but will point out errors or raise questions about comments made in the Hub, not for the purpose of starting a debate, but to give you the opportunity to re-examine what you have written and make any changes, if you feel they are appropriate. Finally, a good commentator will try to offer something to the discussion. Saying you did a good job is one thing. However, to be able to add or to suggest another related topic is also very helpful.

How do I know what level of commentator I am?I have noticed on hubs that there are indicators next to the commentators as to what level they are such as hub author, level one, etc...but I can't seem to find out what level I am. I feel stupid. Lol. Help!

Otherwise, these hubs would be interesting and will written in my opinion. Is it rude to point out these mistakes...

Hey hubbers, would want to know how to achieve that level status? And the mechanism behind it, would love to hear from you?

When you read a friend's hub and leave comments, do you read the comments other Hubbers have left?I have noticed that some comments add to or put a hub in a different light, but what I have noticed too is that many commentators just concentrate on the hub. I was wondering why it happens like that?...

Ok, It's probably better to get things right first time and not have to edit comments, but extra info may need to be added later for the benefit of other readers. So what's the point of the 5 minute limit? We can delete our own comments after the timeout and repost, however if other readers have...

How does one move up as a commentator?I seem to have been a level 5 commentator for ages. I do comment regularly but do not move up. Any tips from higher graded commentators?
