Why are many hubbers earn in HubPages and some don't?

Is it common in HubPages not to earn a cent even if a writer is already more than a year here and had written more than a hundred hubs in which 50 of these are consistently featured?

If you don't have an Adsense account, the only earnings will be from Amazon sales and eBay if you are accepted into the eBay program.

Amazon had accepted but there is no report of earning, all 0. Thanks for the response though.

Jynzly: The ad program from HP is only if you have an Adsense account.

Amazon does not pay for clicks on ads, it is commissions from sales. If you don't have any sales, you will not make anything from them.

I understand perfectly Linda; I just thought that there must be some categorical reasons why adsense would reject an application. Any way, if they won't pay it won't make me poor, I will just have writing as a hobby. Thanks .

    Hi Jynzly,
Do you have an adsense account?

      None, my application was disapproved.

Ah I see. Well in that case I don't think you can earn money, unless you make Amazon or ebay sales, although I am a newbie so I am still learning.

julie: you are correct, without an adsense account, the only way to earn on HP is by sales from Amazon or the eBay program. There are other sites like this where you don't need your own adsense account such as Squidoo, Zujava and Bubblews.

Thanks for the thoughts to both of you. Paid or not, writing is still my passion so I still write in HP. Am just wondering if there are many writers in HP who have similar experience to mine.

You must have an adsense account to earn any real money on this site. I would suggest you reapplying for Google adsense.

I understand that and I did reapply lots of times and was disapproved every time so I just gave up, hence the reason for writing here as just a hobby.

I'm fairly new to HubPages and I had applied too early the first time (only had two articles) to Adsense, so I was denied. I'm waiting now for a while and then will apply again as I know that is where the money is.  Also, even though your hubs are featured (means they were written well) doesn't mean you're getting good traffic.  What do your stats say on each of your hubs?  Are they getting google traffic as well as traffic elsewhere? A well written article doesn't mean you'll get good traffic if it isn't what people are looking for.  More traffic of course means more chance they'll click on the ads.  I'd try for Adsense again!

I don't really care much about traffic. I prefer an honest to goodness writing regardless of  the number of readers. Also, why would I care about traffic when my adsense application had been denied many times? What's the point?

    CORRECTION:

I notice that my question is stated grammatically wrong. It should be "WHY ARE MANY HUBBERS EARNING IN HUBPAGES AND SOME AREN'T?"

It's anybody's guess why some earn more than others. Great writing and interesting articles are one reason, but there are plenty of others who write great articles and aren't earning much. I wish I knew the answer!

When I joined HP, I was not thinking of earning. I write as a hobby but as I wrote along I discovered that writers here earn regardless of the quality of their writing.

Yea.; not that I did not apply for it. I was just denied every time I attempted so I gave up. I just wonder how many are like me here in HP.

That's exactly your opinion, not mine. I don't have to work hard like a beast of burden in order to get paid and live. I got better ways...but thanks for your opinion.
