So if we have had hubs published here and remove them, are they ours to do with as we wish? Is there a time limit as to when they become public domain? If you have had experience, I'd appreciate knowing for sure. Thanks so much

Well said, LuisEGonzale!
Luis is right. I have heard that you should wait 48 hours or so before republishing a Hub elsewhere, after removing it. I think you need to give Google time to realize it is gone from HubPages to avoid problems with duplicate content.
LuisEGonzalez, Thanks so much. It's only 68 years since I "left the land of the living" but no one knows I'm gone (or maybe they do :) Rock_nj and WalterPoon - Thank you too! I feel better now :)
lovebuglena, This seems to be the consensus! Thanks so much!
Thanks Wayne. I just felt more comfortable hearing this from fellow writers on hubpages :) Cheers! (Like the hat)
It does disappear from HubPages but Google can take two or three weeks to remove it from the search engine results, so wait a while before republishing.
Most sites will accept your Hubs PROVIDED YOU WAIT LONG ENOUGH FOR THEM TO DISAPPEAR FROM GOOGLE which can take a few weeks. If a Hub is Featured, then it probably won't do better elsewhere. However if it's unFeatured, it's better to move it.
