Can two people who share the same IP Address write on HubPages without any problems?

If different people sharing the same IP address, living in the same household, write on HubPages would there be any problems?  I have seen different family members writing on HP, but only assumed they lived in a different household, so it is okay to comment on each other's work without problem as writers, but what if you live in the same household, can you comment on each other's work, or would HP think you are one person with two accounts?

Even if you are in the same household, you're IP addresses are different. IP addresses are uniquely assigned to each computer within a network.

Thanks Thief12! Well, I just got a laptop and I was using the older computer, so if I start using the new computer, even though I may switch back and forth, will that be a problem?

Not at all. Your new computer will be assigned a unique IP address, and you can even use both. Plus, like everyone has said here, multiple HubPages users can log in from the same computer provided each signs out from the website afterwards.

Even when using the same computer you can have your own personal account on websites. There is no problem with commenting on their hubs as long as you don't click on any of their ads. You are not to click on ads on pages belonging to close friends and family members. I guess Google fears someone might make an extra nickel. I have heard some people have more than one account here.

Hi Diana Lee, Oh, I never have clicked on anyone's ads, as I read we are not to do so, even on other hubbers.  Yes, I know those who have more than one account, but wanted to make sure about the commenting part and the IP addresses.  Thanks so much.

Certainly! Since the IP address identifies the computer and not the user, there should be no problems. I am sure it is alright to comment on each other's work, but it would be against Google's policy (and possibly HubPages policy) to click on the ads of the members in the same household. Even if they are not in the same household, it would still be against policy for family members to click on the ads. A person could get shut down rather quickly for doing it. One time, I accidentally clicked on one of my ads. I wasn't thinking... "Let me just click on this ad and make some extra money." I saw the ad and was excited about the product shown in the ad. So, I quickly clicked on it, forgetting that the ad was on my page and so it was against policy to do that. I immediately contacted Google to explain what happened. They let it go because they said in analyzing my history, they realized it was just a mistake and it was OK. But, they will ban people who do that regularly, even if the person clicking on the ad is a family member. Don't ask me how they know, but somehow they have a way of finding out. Anyway, I hope I answered the question.

Hi Marlene, yes, I know to never click on any hubbers' ads whatsoever. And my family decided not to write on HP. But now I am concerned as I have a new laptop I am using, and it has a different IP address than the other.

Hello Faith, I think it doesn't matter what the IP address is. I have used my husband's computer when mine was "down" and I was able to use HubPages with no problems. In other words, I still got paid!

Oh, joy!!!  Thank you so much, as I did not want to do anything to mess up my account.  Now, if a family member does join, I hope we can keep things straight.  Bless you!

Be sure to keep track of the people you sign up. I mean, each time I referred someone, the association was not automatic. I had to contact the HP team and then the referral had to verify to HP that they wanted to be connected to me.

Oh, okay, thanks Marlene, as I did not even think that either!

Did I miss something?  Google says you must not click on your own ads, but I need to go find where HP says you can't click on other hubbers ads. How are we supposed to find out what the ads are if we can't look at other peoples ads?

Thanks, tirelesstraveler, for the link.  Yes, I think they do not want us to repeatedly click on those special hubber friends' ads to help them along, otherwise, it seems to be okay.  It just seems like I remember reading to never click on any ads.

Thank you tirelesstraveler, I remember reading when I signed up that hubbers are not to click on others' ads, but if that is not the case, good to know!!! Appreciate the link.  Blessings.
