Juana, The hubpage interface is different than others and a bit tricky until you get to know it. There will be other answers here, but as far as I know, it is not possible to add picture within your "text" editing unless you know html and I'm pretty sure even my software engineer husband tried that at one point and we weren't able to do it.
The solution? Break your text down to shorter capsules. For each section of your text that needs a picture, end the text at the point where the content related to your picture ends and then move that "photo" capsule up to that text and either place it in the right hand column with the text at the left or use the double sided arrow to stretch it across the two columns with your text either at the top or bottom. Think of it like moving one of those puzzles where you put the numbers in order by sliding them around. However, the images, as you might notice from other hubs are never on the left (Or at least not on the hubs I've seen.)
You can also check in the forums and in the guidelines, etc. and I'm sure others will have more ideas for you.
As for me, I find this software very frustrating. In blogger I'm able to move things around and insert in text and be much more flexible. However, the community here is wonderful, so I might write a little introduction to my piece on my blog (being careful not to use similar words) and link it back here.
With my WEBSITE at godaddy, I'm able to add slideshows which is very cool. However, I use that for my business and not much for writing.
I've seen beautiful articles in wordpress. Again, you can summarize your hub article there, add the features not offered here, and then link back to hubpages.
Best wishes. I'm hoping some other answers help all of us with this dilemma.
