What determines the hubscores?

I have had a horrible month, close to zero views on all my hubs and with kids starting school haven't been very active in community (questions, reading others hubs, etc) yet the scores of my individual hubs as well as my hubscore have gone up. I'm not complaining, just confused. With no traffic and no edits I would expect everything to go down. How does this work?

I noticed when I write the score goes down too. It is very confusing.

Thank you for your answer my friend! :)

    Thanks for your answer. :)

Once I get this new schedule with my kids school and stuff into a routine I can become more involved again in the community. I do miss it anyway and keep seeing great hubs I don't have time to read. :(

I agree. Views on my hubs are next to nothing which equals no earnings yet my score rises. I'm not complaining just confused on how this works. Thanks for your answer and best wishes that your earnings continue to climb.
