Do you think forums should be OFF LIMITS to newly signed up people???

The amount of spam coming into the forums by these people in the last week is amazing. Just now I got notifications of 32 forum posts by spammers who signed up less than 20 minutes ago and copy pasted the same spammy message to each forum. What do you think?

40 more notifications - the same person using 5 profiles and spamming the forums. Just wondered what everyone thought, or if I was alone in my thinking. TY mgeorge1050 for your comment. I agree there has to be a change in the rules.

I think anyone new joining Hubpages who is serious about wanting to write here will see all this garbage and run the other way - to find a site that is better moderated or who has better rules so that this crap doesn't happen.

No, it won't keep me from writing on HP either, but I am more choosy about the forum questions I choose to comment on. The spammy ones I report and I've been doing alot of reporting lately. lol

no, they wouldn't. They would be banned after repeated flags on profile. Or proven plagarism. So far HP has been shutting down questions when "report" is clicked in forums, but Not on profiles. So they live on to post again another day. And they do
