I find the hubber I am interested in that has articles and writing I know I will want to follow and then click their activity and they had no recent history. Now some mat be three weeks ago or something but what is that? That is not active. It is every day now more and more. Why is that? Any ideas?

Well thanks, that is some understanding at least.
Squidoo has gone so far as to lock my lenses for "quality of writing." This is so offensive that I don't even know what to say. In many cases, those were purple star lenses they were locking! HP has been way better than Squidoo, IMO.
Well I can tell you HP can say things about my quality of writing all they want while holding up others that follow no rules & get nothing said to them. I just dont understand a business that does not mean what it says for everyone & hard on
I see fewer and fewer very low-quality hubs on Hubpages, but I have seen a few unfairly unfeatured for "quality." Most of the time it works out in the long run with human checks though!
You really should take a better look. A friend and I do all we can to raise our profile scores while we watch others with one or no pics, not much wording and they pass us in score. We are not illiterate, we know what HP wants and understand English.
I have had several unfeatured for quality and there was nothing wrong with them. I changed one word and they have been featured since then. And fiction is darn near impossible to keep featured. They act like they don't want fiction on here.
I don't know what to think Becky; I used to do fiction & had high score all the time & they said well as long as you have so many words then they wanted no poems, whacked my score down so I remove them while others do them all the time with n
I understand, I have been meaning to get back to read you, I really liked your work but we have no way of knowing if called inactive you would know if we comment.
That is a good point. If they are inactive they are probably not checking hubpages. I guess the best thing to do is just enjoy what they have already written and keep looking for people you like that are active. Great question.
Great idea Bill, I should do that. I love to follow new ones of interest and it is claimed HP wants us to but there is no need if they are writing nothing in even three months I would say but six months definitely Thx.
Yes, I do the same, which has gotten me down to a pretty short list. I have found a good bit of active hubbers under the topics I follow.
I look there too but you have to stop hopping to check them out so that is usually the end of my hub hopping...I mean I like to see everything they do before I follow someone.
Yes, that is true, you do have to stop hub hopping to read there hubs, but you can continue later, especially if you find someone who has written a hub of interest to you.
You can help the HubPages community highlight top quality content by ranking this answer up or down.
I don't look for things to improve anytime soon so good luck and hope you can make some money here. I have friends that do pretty good. I don't write for pay but so far I let HP have their ads.
Thx for your time.
