How much time do you typically spend developing a Hub before you post the content?
I'm curious about the process that other Hubbers use in planning, researching and writing before they hitting, 'Submit'.
After researching, most hubs take me about 2 hours to write, pick the photos and videos (that's the longest part) and then post. But some hubs can take me from 8 hours to 2 weeks or longer. It depends on the subject matter, how much detail I want to include, finding the right links, photos and videos, and most importantly -categorizing and timing the posting of the hub (in relation to others who may be posting on the same subject matter).
I've never assumed that others might post similar content in the same time frame. Do you base that on trends or something else. Thanks!
Not on trends, just on Hubpages. I look over the categories I am thinking of using to see what my competition is. If there is too much posted over 2 days or so, I might hold off for a little bit. If there is wayyyyyy too much, then I tweak my title!
A couple of my Hubs have taken one or two months, depending on what I'm researching. Others, I've written in a matter of hours. It depends on the topic and what my passion is at the time of the writing.
The most I've ever spent is a couple of days on a single Hub. For the Hubs that take you one or two months to research, do you typically work on more than one Hub at a time? Thanks.
Usually about 3 days, but always at least 2 because I've learned (the hard way) not to post a hub until I've slept on it.
Hi Kathleen. That brings up another question. How much editing do you do before you publish? I find myself adding polls and other features that I didn't consider as I was writing the content. Thanks.
I usually go back and add those too. The main thing for me is the writing, then come the bells and whistles.
Well i don't think it needs much time to start a hub because there is no hard and fast rule for this. So you just need to browse a little by looking into a couple of hubs and think about a topic that you are going to written so it probably takes 2-3 days to start a hub and mot more than this. Because when you publish a hub then you actually start learning what this is all about.
It depends upon the topic. If it's something that I can write off the top of my head with no research needed because I'm very familiar with the subject, then I can whip out the article in a couple of hours, photos depending.
If it needs research, it can take me anywhere from several hours to a week or more, depending on both the amount of research needed, available data, and my own time constraints with other responsibilities.
I have some that have been started and put on the shelf for over a year for lack of either time or sufficient data to complete.
I just write as I research and there are times when I publish the article before its completely done
Well, when I get inspired on writing a particular Job and done working on it, I instantly post it. Which I truly regrets because sometimes it lacks pure content or more research. So, Do our homework first before posting it.

When looking for information on a hub topic it is good to make sure that the information is accurate and that you have done your homework because there is nothing worse than reading an article that has false information. This takes the reader away from your site as they feel that it is fictitious...

I was just wondering how long a hub takes you to write from concept to published? I am using hubpages as the start of my freelance writing career and I am working being more productive. I am also only doing my second hub now. I have an editor now so that will add time to the process still...

Just gaging anyone else's earnings here. I just checked google adsense and I have earned 64 dollars in 18 months. I've only written 19 Hubs and most of them don't get any traffic. Any thoughts?
