What should I do if a hub is stolen?

HubPages has found two locations where one of my hubs has been copied. One is a foreign site, and one is in English. There are links suggesting how to file a DMCA, but the fine print about being "liable for damages" concerns me. Should I send an email with the suggested message, or send a more informal one first, politely asking the site owners to remove the content? I don't want to seem like a jerk, but they did copy my Hub of the Day word for word, and it is technically copyrighted to HubPages.

Thanks for your reply! I suppose I will start by asking politely for the owners to remove the content. Hopefully that takes care of it, and I don't have to take further action.
