Why did my HubScore plummet?
I know that HubScores are mostly algorithms, and I'm not obsessed with the score or anything, but I am wondering why my new Hub, which had a 95 HubScore starting out, plummeted 10 points in less than 24 hours, even when I got a comment on it? Does anyone know if I needed to do something different or what could have caused it? I was so excited to have a 95 HubScore straight off the bat, and now it's 85 and I don't know why. It's not a big deal, but it's kind of weird...
It is very frustrating, I know, Elizabeth -- but, it happens. Did you maybe edit the hub? I had a hub that shot up to 99 fast after I first published it. It hovered from 95 to 98 for a long time. Then I had to go in and edit it when I noticed an error in it. After I edited, it plummeted to 79. It has been hovering around 80 for a few weeks, even though it is still getting good comments.
It's really a puzzle. We can't know or predict it. There may be many points. Editing a hub, decrease in viewership, active participation in forums and Q & A and number of visits or frequency of visits by you on hubpages. These are some reasons, I think. Might be other things. But no need to concern or worry. As long as viewers are there, no problem.
I have no idea, but I too dropped from 96 to 88 (and now after weeks am back up to 89) without any rhyme or reason.
I was active and publishing hubs---all which were featured, while my score was dropping.
Part of me suspects it is political; a function of some of the comments I made to various forums, but I have no evidence to support this. Just a sense, a hunch.
Sorry, don't be suspicious like this. It is happening to all with no bias. It is simply some measurement of quality and activity done by electronic machines, I hope.
One problem:
If you browse around Hubpages, you will find hubbers with no featured content and/or limited activity retain similar scores. If it is an attempt to quantify "quality", then modification is required. And can we quantify quality?
I am not sure, mbuggieh. But there happens to be something, we don't figure out. Why not the administration clear our points? Even though it ought not to be a point of worry, we should at least know the system.
Thank you all very much for your input! Like I said, I'm not really that worried about it; it was just weird.
Yeah! We should not bother about it. let us concentrate more on viewership and good quality hubs.

My hub scores range from 65 to 87 as of the last time I looked. My average is 73. To me it seems like I have a "C" average. I'm disappointed and discouraged. I am doing everything that is recommend to get a good score. It is disheartening not to get a feedback. For...

I'd like to suggest we get rid of Hubber Score - and perhaps even Hub Scores. They:- are constantly misunderstood;- cause a lot of upset and grief in the forums; and- encourage newbie Hubbers to direct their efforts in entirely wrong directionsFor instance, I've known newbie Hubbers stop...

I wish there was a way to turn it off. It goes up and down without reason, and it can be very distressing.

Why do some hubbers here have a hubscore of 1?I have seen a couple of hubbers with a hubscore of 1. I am just curious why and if that means their score is better than 100, or perhaps another meaning in terms of quality articles.
