Editors Choice piece starting to fall drastically
I have one EC article in total, and when it was selected, it was like a 97 or 98, but today its an 83 and falling. I want to delete the hub because it isnt doing well, but dont want to lose my accolade. Does anyone know if I remove an editors choice hub if the accolade goes with it?
I have tried editing the hub and nothing seems to change the direction of the score, it just keeps dropping and I dont know what to do
Don't worry about its score dropping give it time and it may well start rising again.
Be patient, don't delete. A hubscore of 83 is not that bad at all. I've experienced the same, almost 20 point drop and it came back up eventually (however, not an EC, I opted out). Many factors affect hub score. Regarding EC accolade, I think you would have to opt out to lose the accolade. Not sure about deleting one hub. It could be the fact that EC is causing the performance issue. Re-evaluate whether you want to stay with the EC program but keep the hub. Tweak it and promote it periodically and it will rise again, hopefully.
Do you think I should try and tweak it all or just let it sit?
I would never be in a hurry to delete-- especially on that basis. Scores and numbers can seem very arbitrary, they jump around like fleas on a hot griddle and are given far too much attention. My advice would be to leave it alone, let it 'age", perhaps do some improving at a later time.
Ignore it for awhile and write some new hubs.
Kathleen, I have three 'Editor's Choice' hubs, but they all have quite low scores 78, 76, and 71. They seemed to have quite a few views before they became 'Editor's Choice" but since then they have had very few. It's strange that these don't get as many views as a lot of my other hubs, but I won't delete them because they may go up eventually and I did put a lot of research into them.
Thanks Jodah, Im glad im not alone here. and I feel the same way about the hub I am speaking about, so I appreciate your feedback.
Kathleen, why don't you try promoting your hub on various FB groups, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn? I've been slowly doing that with my older hubs that I posted when I didn't have many followers. That gets me some new traffic.
What are your page views versus comments on the EC hub? I wouldn't delete anything without sending it out for another go around.
I share it alot! Its my article on Bradley Manning. Rarely it gets a good flow of traffic but for the most part traffic goes elsewhere. Its a pretty specific topic and not something a lot of people still think or talk about, try as I might.

I had not realized until today that if someone has earned a Hub of the Day Accolade you can click on the icon on their profile page to read the contents of the Hubs which have earned the accolade. I am wondering if HubPages Staff might like like to consider doing the same thing with the...

Just curious, one of my hubs, selected as a hub of the day some time ago has been my top performing one for quite a while. However, it does seem odd to me that hubs of the day are not automatically selected as Editors Choice Hubs as well! Anyone else ever wondered why this is? If not, would...

My "Inside the Beehive" hub just got the "Editor's Choice" award. After reading the posts about Editor's Choice, I feel like it is like getting the key to the city. It is a great honor, but it's not good for any thing. It doesn't even show up on my profile...

If I recall there used to be a nominate a hub for editor's choice button on my feed page. I think it was right above the Hub of the Day. I don't see it anymore. Is it gone or has it been moved somewhere else? Thanks in advance.

I'm not planning on deleting anything, I'm just curious. If I had one hub that went viral and got me 100,000 views, earning me an accolade, would I still have that accolade if I deleted it?

My daily earnings have dropped drastically -- WHY? Is it because HP has pulled ads on my hubs due to the "unfeatured" hubs, which are mostly poems? Are poems not worthy of being featured and getting daily earnings? And WHY does HP decide what should or should not be featured?...
