Would you delete a hub that creates lots of comments because...
it has a score of 63? I have a hub that is very controversial. It has 1100 words, the grammar is decent, multiple photos, and a poll. It has over 300 comments and several thousand views that I would lose if I were to delete it. I've done everything I can to this Hub, and I truly believe it is being evaluated based on disagreeing with it rather than content. It is dragging my hub average down quite a bit. If you were in this situation would you lose all the views and comments for the sake of bringing up your hub average (which impacts hubber score)?
No, I'd keep it. A hub which generates that amount of attention deserved to be published. The score wouldn't mean as much to me as the fact it's being read and having a reaction from people.
I wouldn't delete it even with the low score. If a lot of people are reading it, the content is important to the people who really matter - the readers. I don't have any scores below 69, but my most popular ones (by reader views) tend to stay in the 70s. As the saying goes, "You can't please all of the people all of the time" and the hardest to please tend to be the HP people/slash computer that assigns the scores.
Keep it. The more views you have, the better your income. Plus I am sure that score will go up. I don't think it being controversial has any impact on the score.
63 isn't a bad score. If it was below 50 I'd be worried. Besides, if you're attracting thousands of views, it's well worth keeping. Well done on the attention-grabbing hub! It's often controversial issues that spark views and comments.
No, not at all. If a Hub which evokes such a huge response then it means that the hub in question is being thoroughly examined, analyzed and commented by the visitors. When audience register their visit on the hub in the shape of comments then it implies that audiences have read your hub from head to toe to leave a comment. Such a hub will make history and there is every likelihood of being selected as one of the hubs with so many comments if HP decides to present an accolade for the feat. However to keep the hub score moving you can update the hub at least every six months.
I wouldn't delete it. If you are getting a lot of comments on it, that means that it is serving the purpose of getting traffic. I understand how frustrating it can be to see a low hub score, but I wouldn't let that take away from everything you have accomplished with that hub. If people want to ding you for it, then that's their problem. As long as it stays featured, then you would be wise to keep it right where it is. In fact, I applaud you for writing about controversial matters as that opens up our eyes to true dilemmas that exist in our world.
I would keep it. I don't pay any attention to that stuff. Some of my hubs that have been "put to sleep" have higher scores than ones they've kept active. I've also had them come back and reactivate a hub or two that was on inactive status. I don't understand their methods at all.
I have a hub that has a score of 63 and it's featured. I wouldn't think of deleting it. Featured hubs show up in Google whereas un-featured hubs don't. I only have one un-featured hub, but haven't deleted it yet. It seems with each Google change, our hubs get re-evaluated. Hang in there. Things may change.
Seriously?
What do scores mean? Not much. They are just there to stop spammers getting good backlinks.
What counts are views and money.
If the content is important to you, then do not delete it. If it the kind of hub that invites continuing comments and discussion, perhaps you can begin a forum thread on the same subject, or suggest that some one else do the same. I do not know how this would affect your scores, maybe some one else out there has a better idea on this. Have a nice day.
Some suggestions, if you haven't done these things already:
1 - Look through your reader's comments to see if they have tips for improving your hub.
2 - Are the photos yours or others? Replace as many as you can with your own photos. With those that are left, be sure to give them proper attribution.
3 - Take out language that's deliberately crass and/or provocative and replace it with something that means the same and preserves the controversy, but is a little more "sophisticated," so to speak.
4 - Compare this hub with your best one that also has comments. What is the difference in quality? Anything? Take tips from yourself.

I'd like to suggest we get rid of Hubber Score - and perhaps even Hub Scores. They:- are constantly misunderstood;- cause a lot of upset and grief in the forums; and- encourage newbie Hubbers to direct their efforts in entirely wrong directionsFor instance, I've known newbie Hubbers stop...

Just had a big drop on my profile score. And all my hubs were featured along with a steady 10 Editors Choice. I say 'were' because 3 were just unfeatured and I don't know what to do about that. My views are over 945,000. Boo-hoo. Hubpages doesn't love me anymore!

I've been on here for a few years, and I guess I never really understood the point of these scores. They don't seem to provide any real value to the user and I can't convince myself that they add value because they fluctuate so much. What's the point? Am I supposed to use these scores to tell me...

Sometimes when I have ideas for hubs, I "start a hub" and sometimes finish it later or just let it sit there for a while. Maybe I should just write down my hub ideas instead. Does it hurt my hub scores or overall hubber score to have those unfinished hubs (often with just titles) sitting...

For a good number of weeks my hubber score has hovered around the 100 mark. Two days ago it started falling, and as I write this, it is down to 89! If this keeps up, it will be 0 in a week! No rhyme or reason to it, but it leaves me wondering why this is happening. I know...

For months I published no hubs and my hubber score sat around 96, in the last month I published three hubs, all of which are featured and each time I published one my hubber score dropped by two points, it's now down to 90. Is this how HP rewards us for our hard work? Correct me if I'm wrong but...
