I think posting on social media gets few views, but a large number of social media shares makes a page rank higher in SERPs in Google. I think! Maybe someone more experienced can comment?

Sorry, I thought Wrylilt was actually asking about Google+ not search traffic originally! Yes, what you do is share share share on social media with great content and at some point, it takes off on its own and you get shares happening every day.
