I have never put my photos at Pinterest but others have and then it is claimed my photos belong to Pinterest that others put there? Makes no sense and all I want to do is get Pinterest of my HP hubs. Just trying o find out how to do that.
As it turns out, you can’t completely delete your account on Pinterest. Instead, you can deactivate your account, which removes your profile and pins from Pinterest and puts it in a state of suspended animation.
Au fait, Jackie is saying she, herself, does not have a Pinterest account, and is only asking how to have the Pinterest share button removed from her hubs, just as other photographers have done. That is all she would like to do.
Well it can be taken off so I am asking someone who knows how. I want to use more of my own photography and I don't want Pinterest claiming it as theirs because someone decides to pin it.
Pinterest cannot claim yours or anyone else's work simply because you or anyone else posted it on their site. No one can steal someone else's work so easily.
I understand that concern, but as Au fait said, Pinterest doesn't claim your work. People pinning helps you get discovered and brings you traffic. I've been quite successful with it so you may want to reconsider is all I was pointing out.
I appreciate your concern for my success but I just want to know how to get rid of it; that is all and I have given it a couple years thought.
To deactivate your account, first visit Pinterest.com, click your username in the upper-right corner, and select Settings from the menu that pops up. Next, scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and click the Deactivate Account button.
Just the Pinterest button I want to remove; others have removed theirs so I know it can be done; I just want to know how.
Removing the button will make it more inconvenient, but people will still be able to post your work to PInterest if they want to. You will miss out on a lot of advertising for your work if you decide to shun Pinterest.
I cannot find Social Networks?
It's not on your account page. Go to you 'EDIT profile page,' and Social Networks is at the top left. I left you directions for canceling your Pinterest acct in 2 comments above. Words are limited here & it wouldn't allow me to do it in 1 comme
I do not have a Pinterest acct that I am aware of but followed your directions and got the Pinterest off. THANK YOU!!!
I left out one step Jackie, sorry, My Accounts>Profile>Social Networks (on the right). Pinterest is the second down.
Oh, I see now that you have it removed now.
