Should the Q&A section automatically close questions after a certain amount of time?

I think that leaving questions open indefinitely may be the reason we see the same questions over and over again in this section. Would it improve user experience and make this section more interactive if questions were automatically closed to new answers after 6 months or something? Many of the "hot" questions here have hundreds of answers and are several years old.

Even this could work - a time limit would be perfect.

Best Answer? But what if someone like me gets an awesome answer from you, Christin, and Bill (billybuc)? It's just impossible to pick a best answer!
