I realize this question gets asked more than any other question.
I began "hubbing" 3-4 weeks ago and immediately published several hubs, all of which were featured articles. I filled out all the necessary adsense information etc and was denied an account by Google Adsense because of "insufficient content" which meant literally nothing to me. I posted a question here and was told to just wait it out. How long do I "wait it out"? Am I waiting for Google to get back to me when they deem me worthy? Am I missing important information here? I joined this site to try and earn some extra money. I dont seem to be earning that and yet ads are placed on my hubs.
You must be here a minimum of around 8 weeks before even applying for adsense. Any attempt before this time is only a waste of time. Just keep writing until you have 15-20 good quality hubs that are all featured. Warning: the money is minimal!
Thank you for your response. However, I DO have 29 hubs which mostly all are feature hubs. I never expected to get rich doing this, but it doesnt make a lot of sense to me that as soon as you join, you are told to be sure and apply for Adsense.
Thank you Sallie! I completely agree with you.
Keep building hubs, and reapply to Adsense when you have a dozen or so featured. That seems to work for most people who don't already have an Adsense account when they arrive here.
As mentioned...I have 29 hubs. Most are featured hubs. I tried re-appling and got smacked down yet again. I honestly have to question the ethics of this. When you begin hubbing you are literally pushed into applying for Adsense and then are denied.
I have 29 Hubs..most of which are featured. I dont feel at all comfortable with this program as I have already done everything that has been recommended and still dont have an Adsense acct.
It varies based on a lot of things - what country you're from, how many hubs you have, what topic the hubs are about (will they be relevant to the majority of Adsense advertising) and their quality.
The best hubs answer questions that complete strangers are asking. What questions do your hubs answer?
I find it odd that your answer included a comment about whether or not my hubs would be relevant to the majority of Adsense advertising when every, single one of my hubs has several ads already on them!
Those are currently adverts belonging to Hubpages. Once you're in the program, it's less of an issue. When applying, they want to know your hubs will be suitable for specific adverts, not general ones.

I'm not asking about why hubs get featured or un-featured. I kind of know that. The issue is: I just did a category search in my hubs, and found that, out of 292 published hubs, 149 are unfeatured due to low traffic! That's a lot! Over half my articles! I don't have the time...

Let me be honest with you, I joined Hubpages in the hope that I will be able to earn some extra income to supplement my college expenses. I know there is no such thing as easy money and I shouldn't expect to live off my earnings on hubpages. But, If I get a good number of my hubs featured, how much...

I've reviewed the instructions and have been declined again. I joined hubpages in January of 2013, and wrote 4 hubs. In the last few days I have written 6 more hubs. All of my hubs are featured and I have ten total. I hoped that 10 featured hubs would be enough. I am in the...

I'd like to suggest that "normal" Hubs should have an exclamation mark next to them on our account page.I think there's a very high risk that new Hubbers will misunderstand the normal/Featured system. I've already answered one enquiry from a Hubber who has misunderstood it.He...

Just had a big drop on my profile score. And all my hubs were featured along with a steady 10 Editors Choice. I say 'were' because 3 were just unfeatured and I don't know what to do about that. My views are over 945,000. Boo-hoo. Hubpages doesn't love me anymore!
