I use to be really good at that but the older I get the more unsure I am. How about you? Do you go on first impressions?

Just sitting around waiting on a new owner for Sally....~. I trusted my instincts early on and was almost if not almost always right. Maybe has something to do with being Christian too, you reckon? Maybe the Holy Spirit gives us insight? Hope so!
Oh...Sally is going? Yes, for sure about the Holy Spirit for He got me out of a potentially dangerous situation downtown in the City for a thought just popped in my head to keep on driving and do not stop and I am glad I did!
I have had experiences like that too, but maybe that is getting into something else..or maybe not! lol
I am afraid there will be many in last days word that we will not be able to trust & as they come from every color & nationality we just cannot make a quick decision unfortunately.A shame but I guess we will have to suspect anyone different
Thanks Angela; lol. It does seem people will avoid looking you in the eye and some just act busy doing something while they talk and those I think know they can't hide their lying eyes!
This reminds me of liars I have known in the past & I wondered how they fooled so many people for so long. I do think it is good to be wary of people we have in our homes esp as I have been taken advantage of even if they weren't stealing from me
Yes, that has happened to me more than once and I regretted not going with my first reaction to them!
It's also important to listen to loved ones if they tell you that they have a bad feeling about a man you're dating. That doesn't mean you have to do what they say but always keep their opinions in the back of your mind.
Electronics would perhaps make it somewhat different today I imagine.
I fall into your camp, Kara. I've usually found my first impressions to be wrong, and therefore try to rank people as "good folks until proven guilty"! But it can be difficult. How can we know when intuition is superstition in disguise?
I sure would never treat anyone any differently because of a feeling & from running a business a good part of my life I know to be kind to everyone. It would take a real extreme from someone for me to tell anyone off, so far that hasn't happened.
Well I had a great interest in psychology of adults and children and took those classes in school. Perhaps those did help me to judge.
I can see it could be unfair to prejudge but so far I don't recall being wrong at this except for a couple times thinking I was wrong and then finding out later I wasn't. lol
I have spoken to those who lie so well! Scary people!
Jackie, It sounds like you have learned to listen to your gut. Not everyone has and it is those, who are unpracticed, who may get it wrong sometimes. :)
It would not of course be true of everyone who does not look you in the eye but I think the soul does show through the eyes & we can read others by that in many if not all cases. I have found it to be true younger anyway when I was among ppl more
Nicole, that's how I feel, too! I've known a couple friends whose "intuition," I came to realize, was actually prejudice, though they did not realize it at the time. I am not a very intuitive person. Maybe intuition is a gift for some, but not all?
Maybe that is why older people seem to like to talk to me...because I am interested in what they are saying and look them in the eye. Always wondered about that...could be the answer. Thanks.
I think Moms do learn to read our eyes. Very hard to fool her!
Thanks Lisa and for me it is based more on younger days for I am not in contact daily with people as I once was and I bet it would be harder to know!

Thank you for your opinion Mihnea and I agree it is that way with me.
Also Jackie think about the timid and shy personality they exist as well as bold and boisterous, just like a doctor can not treat all his patients alike nore treat or prescribe the same medication and treatment , it would wrong to test all the same.
I would not even attempt it here at HP but I have had bad feeling about people and even when they may seem OK for awhile it would end up being as I suspected. I think you can read eyes & faces & although everyone who cannot look you in the e
I worked as a sub teacher in a blind class several times (I have two hubs on the subject). It taught me something about perception. When they thought I was younger than my actual age, I like to think they were 'seeing' the true me. :)
Will have a look Rochelle; thanks!
Yes it is Michael and I believe trusting the Holy Spirit that guides us through life helps us to know and of course we would none make any snap judgement but trust our Spirit to discern in due time if what our heart decides is correct in feeling.
