Are people are publishing less hubs these days?

Have you opt out of publishing hubs to focus on your own website?

I believe people I follow are not writing as much as they once did. I know there are a lot of new sites out there. I've written on a couple, but they are not home to me. I don't think you can find a site better than HP. I do miss people who have left. I hope they come back...

I remember when I started on here 6 years ago there were challenges to see how many hubs someone could write in a certain time. I didn't like that because the hubs were of mediocre quality. I like when people write hubs and put thought into them.

Ironic, I wrote a hub on it, basically without getting comments the effort of writing hubs is to expensive in time and energy. I write for comments, not money. I am bankrupt, well on the verge of comment bankruptcy. lol

I have been spending a LOT of time building my own brand. When I get a idea which sounds like hubpages I put it here. Hubpages will always be home.......until they put me out that is.

I would love to write more Hubs but I just haven't had the free time. The holidays were busier than usual and now that they're over and I'm back to the grind, I haven't felt the spark of inspiration hit yet.

I'm very new to Hubpages and have only written 1 so far.  I'm still learning and finding my way around the website, but from what I see so far I think I'm going to enjoy it here.

Yes. The first year I joined I didn't publish. The next year 2011 I published my first Hub on 3/28. That year I published 54. My goal was at least a Hub per week. This year I published nine. I don't have a blog or website.

And, then there is the long, winding road with several forks along that pathway between. Long story . . . personal life, work life, impact of Google on HP, and the flow of the two enterprises at HP - Business and social.

Answering the second question I know as a result of the HP story some to many of the friends I made here moved on to their own websites and blogs now. I see their posts at Facebook where they are in my friends following. Most are still members here, but publish less or no Hubs. But, many remain active reading and commenting on Hubs probably shared at FB.

Clive, it does seem that a lot of people are writing fewer hubs than they once were, myself included. At the start of last year I was writing an average of three hubs per week, I am currently doing around one per fortnight to three weeks. the holiday period and a hopeless Internet connection haven't helped. I have one hub ready to publish if I could just upload photos to it...ah well.
