What do you think of the 30 Hubs in 30 days challenge?

If you can produce 30 quality articles in 30 days, props to you. But unless your schedule is cleared, I'm skeptical many people could research and write 30 awesome Hubs in a month. Any thoughts?

I have seen those challenges in the past and I think they are a waste of space and time in most cases. The majority of articles are usually just thrown together just to have something to publish. Actually of no interest to anyone. Just my opinion.

Agreed, unless someone's on a long vacation from work or college, it's unlikely they can put together than many articles without rushing several through.

But, to have that many subjects to write about with GOOD content is a lot harder than one would think.

Never took part in one. It must be nice to have that much free time.

Agreed, few could do it. Maybe someone who has retired, or a student on summer break from college. Even then, it'd be challenging.

Lately I'm lucky if I've had the time to do ONE hub in 30 days, haha

Jeremy... I certainly know of numerous writers here who have taken the 30/30 challenge.  I've paid attention throughout and supported them by reading and commenting.
That particular challenge is not for me.  It's just not how I roll when it comes to writing, first of all.  I don't write to respond to a challenge nor compete in a contest nor to experience how many & how quickly I can churn out articles.  In fact, I find the entire concept, unpleasant.
My reasons for writing are very personal.  It's my outlet, my relaxation, entertainment, often it's a need and other times, I write because I am overflowing with something specific to share.
I don't know for certain, but I believe Hubpages likes to challenge their writers to comply with the suggestions they offer.  The point is, this is a business for HP owners and they want the writers and the specific kind of writing that will generate $$$$$.  Can't blame for that.  Business is business.
For this same reason, they aren't particularly fond of "other" types of writers (like myself) nor do they appreciate articles that do not normally generate $$$$.  All the same, I'm here for my own reasons and do as I please.  I write only when my muse directs me....no more, no less.  My muse and I do have an agreement.  When I am seriously involved in projects, day to day living, responsibilities and doing what all I do, she knows enough to remain still and quiet.
By all means, young man, if you feel you're up for the 30/30...go for it!  Good Luck.  Peace, Paula

Yes, from a business standpoint, the 30 day works well at pumping out articles and hoping some attract readers. Like you, It's not something I'd want to try, but kudos to anyone who has. Thank you for your insights!

That's assuming you write one a day. If you've got a free day and loads of ideas, why can't you write four or five in one day? It's the same as that NaNoWriMo challenge; if you have the drive, enough ideas and time to sit and type, you can do it.

I guess people who don't work full-time have an easier time of it though yeah? Like housewives and students and such.

Four (quality) articles in one day? Now that would be an accomplishment. Interesting how people view the 30 day differently; some think it mass-produces rushed work while others find it a good way to motivate themselves.

I don't think it's an unreasonable challenge at all. It's not for everyone, but if you're a professional writer, you should be able to research and write an article every day or so. Newspaper reporters do it all the time.

It's not for everyone. I'm new here and am taking several days to create my first article. Once I've written a few and am more comfortable with the procedure and the rules, they'll come faster. I could see doing a few in one day sometimes, while others would take longer. It could average out to 30 articles in 30 days, but for me, that would be quite a challenge.

I see your point, but newspaper reporters do that as part of their job while many authors here write in addition to their career. Including research, photos/videos, and the actual writing involved, it'd be quite hard to do the 30-day and work a job.

I am going to jump in and say I did it 5 years ago and then kind of stopped for a few years (writing) and now getting back into it.  I think the hub challenge is a very good concept and why not?  Your promoting one to think, invest and DO! To me that is a very good idea.

I think that it would be very interesting to do. But you would need to have the free time to do it. I'm not saying that you would need to have bountiful ideas in order to do it because there are many sources to gather inspiration from.
