Yes you can. For an example, I write humorous stories that are basically not true or have a different type of outlook from the norm, so, I put most of mine in Entertainment--Comedy--Satire.
When I write seriously, I usually put a story in Books and Writing--Writing--Creative Writing. Find stories that have similarities to what you write and if they seem to be read a good bit, look at the top of the article and see what path they used to get readers to their stories. Emulating successful Hubbers in this regard is a good way to get traffic, and, to get the right readers to your stories.
