Can I use the same introduction text for a series of related hub pages I am planning to write?
So I want to write a series of quite closely related hubs and was thinking about using the same chunk of text to introduce them all at the beginning - not because i'm too lazy but because it applies to them all and I thought it might create a nice sense of continuity. Obviously the remaining content would be different for them all.
Would that be a silly thing to do?
You can do it that way but the search engines would be better served if you created a unique first paragraph and then added your "same introduction" as a second paragraph. That way they will be introduced in the same way but unique for the search engines and when people are checking them out in HubPages.
Not only would it be a silly thing to do, you might trip the duplicate content filter and have your scores penalized. Re-using text is never beneficial.
Thank you both for responding, that's really helpful - I especially didn't think about the duplicate filter.
Cheers!
Yes. It is a good Idea to put them in a group, and vary the titles.
Generally its not a good idea to have duplicate content.
1. there will be duplicate flag and hubpages will not let you put an affiliate link/any commercial link.
2. Your duplicate content will only put as supplement and not really indexed by google.

Everything after the first post on my travel articles is flagged as duplicate. I have the same structure on each one and since they're travel posts primarily in the UK they will have a lot of the same words. Please evaluate and let me know how to fix this without destroying the series.Thank you.
