BP will do whatever is necessary to respond to the spill within the confines of legal and ethical obligations - as they see it.
I am a retiree of this company. The problem is not that BP does not want to function honestly. The problem is that their desire to grow in both power and capacity has overwhelmed their ability to manage (in my opinion). Therefore, they are in no way dishonest. They are driven and self absorbed. Big difference!
I understand that their position right now looks very negative...but they have done many good things in the communities that they operate in over the years. We must try to see a balanced picture of the company - not just the bad. That is more difficult looking through all that oil at the moment.
