What is the best way to handle older hubs whose topics are no longer timely issues and
are considered old news The scores keep dropping and traffic is at a standstill. Should they be deleted?
I've never had this issue, as I don't pursue current events as Hub topics. I do have some seasonal ones (which definitely have their on and off seasons) but mostly I stick to evergreen subject matter as that has been much more productive in the long term.
See if you can rewrite it to be evergreen. If not, deletion may make more sense.
I would not delete them. Other people have asked about deleting hubs before and someone made the point that the hubs could still be of good use. They have advantages because of their age. Sometimes the search engines look at longevity as a positive in ranking sites. Also, you can use the hubs for back links.
I would try changing the hub titles and perhaps re-writing them in a different way.
Also, deleting the hubs may cause your scores to go down. I haven't deleted any of my hubs before. Perhaps someone who has deleted some can tell you their experience.
Either update them, modify them, combine them with other hubs. Or use them as idea generators for future hubs. Perhaps one paragraph can be expanded into a new hub.
Remind yourself to focus on evergreen subjects, unless you enjoy writing personal experiences.
First, do not delete the hub. I did this a couple of times and my score took a nose dive.
Try "tweaking" the hub by editing the title, and make necessary changes to bring it up to date. As an example, I wrote a hub last christmas on childrens gifts. Obviously, once the holidays were over, it would not be applicable. I changed the title to birthday gifts and did some editing in the content and images. Worked beautifully.
Write as many "evergreen" hubs as you can.

For example, do you publish on particular days of the week or time of day? Do you promote based on hot topics on social media or news stories/current events on broadcast media? How important is it to be aware of what's happening day-to-day that may influence they way readers search for information?

I am still trying to make some decent money here because my monthly earnings are still down and dropping. So I thought I would ask for suggestions here for subjects that are known as good moneymakers. I want to see if I can write good enough hubs to generate the money. I don't care about what the...

I'm just wondering if those who have had success with Amazon/Ebay ever do time sensitive hubs such as World Series 2009 merchandise or Calendar oriented hubs which may only sell well for a few months before no one visits them ever again? Do you avoid them? Or have you found it short lasting but...

I posted some articles here about three years ago and came back to write a few more.I noticed that my previous three articles have almost no traffic (about 600 hits). As far as I can tell, I've written them and my current ones correctly with interesting topics, good grammar, links, photos, polls,...

HP has always said do evergreen hubs. Politics is certainly not evergreen. it has a short "shelf-life" if it is about a current event. And since I would mostly write about U.S. politics, they might have very little appeal in other countries. I use my blogs to write about politics,...
