If a hub starts out at 50 then goes down to 48 does that mean someone rated it down?

I'm not understanding this.  Why would someone vote a Hub down, if they aren't going to take the time to comment?

It doesn't necessarily mean that the hub was rated down, but as far as the rating goes, well, there are all sorts of people. Some are simply jerks, when I rate a hub down i provide an answer why. The biggest thing that is bothering me is the question if the people that rate our hubs down have actually read those hubs, or simply rated them down from an unknown reason!

I think some people thinking rate others' hubs down somehow improves their own chances of getting traffic. When eHow accepted community contributions, a lot of people would rate some articles one star, even when the articles were really good. This especially occurred when Demand Studios took over and started hiring writers for eHow. The old community writers would rate down articles submitted by the new contributors. It boils down to competitiveness more than anything, I think.

I think it depends on your content and/or traffic as well. I have a new hub which start from 50 and move down to 48 after 4 views. Then it move up slowly as traffic pick up. I usually just relax and let my hub score play out. Usually it will move up after several days. smile

It is normal but I dont believe it is by voted down.

I experienced it myself and everything was back to above 50 after the next day.

Thank you all for your input.  It was just one that happened today, I have 9 views on it, no one has commented, but it went to 48.  I thought it was a fairly good Hub with easy to follow instructions.  I tried to cover all bases on it.

I'll just relax and see what happens with it.

I wouldn't worry about it. You stated it's a new hub so this is normal. I'm sure you put up unique and quality content so it should sort itself out wink

I have noticed that the hubscore can fluxuate from day to day. Dropping from 50 to 48 isn't that much of a difference.

Try adding some more fresh content to your hub and see what that does.

Not to worry. After you submit the hub and you know it was quality material, the rest is out of your hands. I've seen that happen many times with my hubs. As the responses are saying, let the hub score do its thing. When you least suspect, it will be pretty high up the scoring chart. Enjoy your hubbing.

I think it weighs on the number of readers reading your hubs per day. If the reading of your hubs drops, the score drops. However, you could try the new hub link that they have come up with...that might help you get more number of hits and also investing some time to write up some more hubs smile

I’m not sure about that, but when I published my latest the score only 49. I tried to make some arrangement and thanks God it’s moving up. I guess too many popular picture and variation of sentences or words such as Bold, Italic. For the first make it natural. I hope nobody has such attitude to rate it down.
