oh for hells sake.. when is someone going to stop the blardy spammers?!?!?!?!?!
i wanted to asnwer questions,.. .but i'm going to bed instead... does anyone else just close answers because of these stupid spammers????
beginning to hate this section of hp... which i used to enjoy....
Good Day sugz
The spammers are an inconvenience. But let me tell you, overall, I find the interaction on this section a lot more positive and fun than what passes for discourse in the "blardy" forums. I flag the call girl sites and the questions that are wildly inappropriate for polite company. Its slightly disheartening sometimes, I know, they spring up like weeds that are immune to any and all kinds of weed killer formulas.
Hang in there. I don't recommend trying the forums if you haven't already done so. But if you do venture toward that territory, please approach with caution for that domain is filled with sharks and trolls!!
Good Luck!
hi
yes i flag the profiles all the time, i just get annoyed these days and i guess i have developed a short fuse in the past week, but no biggie. i also find the answers section great value, i have found that certain topics draw my brain into action and somehow realise i know a lot of answers that can help others in some way. i love answering on here.. as for asking.. not a lot, i'm not big on asking questions even in real life.. lol
i have ventured to the forums, with me 'saying it how i see it' quite often get myself into trouble hehe
but i don't care if i do.. i voice opinions and the forums are just that.. people giving 'their' opinion, its what we al others do with those opinions and ocmments as to wether we fire up or not.. i totally detest spam to a major degree and i know there are ways to permanently stop them, it's a matter of hp actually listening and doing something about it. stuff a few dollars here an there that i tmight earn them some money.. they will lose a lot of people from this section if it gets a lot worse. i'm an extremely patient person.. (normally) and can tollerate more than most of the people i know, but spammers.. i'd like to obliterate them indefinately...
weed killer... nah weeds grow back.. maybe we can send them a little computer injection.. i know of some really nice hidden ones which i dare not access on MY computer.. the day i do.. i probably have completely lost it and gone crazy..
not a likely result for this kid.
maybe i will write a hub on how to block them permanently.. fortunatley i know how.. i just wish hp did or if they do already.. would do something about it!
I have never encountered the spammers. I guess it's because I avoid the forums.

For the second time in less than a week, I just spent time opening "questions" that aren't questions, but nonsensical "garbage"--bits of a paragraph copies from somewhere and dumped into HP. In each case, I flagged them for HP, and they will likely disappear soon. But they harm...

This might be my last forum post because I am tired. I can't be wasting my time beating a dead horse.HP is a business and they need to start treating their business more seriously. They need a task force to sit and brain storm about how to keep spammers out in the first place.I know that I have...

all the people I see spamming the forums are signing up long enough to post on the forum but aren't writing any hubs. So ... I was thinking. Why not require three hubs from a person before they can post in the forums? They would still be allowed to read to their heart's content, but they would need...

Title says it all, really. Why not prevent people from posting to the forums unless they've written at least one hub? Most of these spammers don't have a hub to their name. It wouldn't sort the problem out completely, but it would cut down on the spam a bit.

OK, I heard the objections to my idea of no hubs/no forum posts and see the validity. How about a mandatory "Introduce yourself" post that has to survive not being flagged by X number of people in X amount of time and if they pass, they have access to every forum. Otherwise, no...

To date, I have been denied permission to ask and/or answer questions because of revenge? mark downs by disgruntled hubbers. I get blocked for a while, then un-blocked, then blocked again. Also some of my Q&As are deleted by HP staff without notice or a chance to defend my position. The Q&A...
