I'm sure this has been asked before, oh well, I'm asking again. Why do you write Hubs?

If you had to choose one answer... do you write hoping to make money, or simply as a creative outlet and/or "soapbox"?

It's actually fun, but I am aiming to make money at this.

Partly because I want to figure out a way to generate a stream of money from online content. Both from writing on a site like hubpages and maybe using hubpages to promote some other blogs and websites I plan to eventually build.

Also I have always enjoyed writing, even for high school and college assignments. I like the process of researching and then putting your thoughts down. It forces you to think and you learn allot as you go.

I did this same gig on myspace for years without any hopes of getting paid. . . . .but guess what?  The opportunity for making a dollar has made me better at what I would have been doing anyway.

Gives me something to do, improves my writing ability and keeps my imagination alive.  And I'm a motor mouth at heart.

You are probably correct...it likely has been asked before.  I do it because it seems to fit with my creative style and storylines. The Hub is far more complex that people realize.   When you decide to write and forty chapter book here in a series, all I can say is that it better be damn good because I dont' think this is your audience.  That's not to say that your book is bad, I am simply looking at the makeup of the Hub and saying that the vast majority of people as readers here pefer the short story, short article, poetry, etc....a book on the hub has to be beyond the scope of good to hold the majority of readers from front to back. I write because I need to...I didn't know that for a long time, but I need to write. Anything beyond that is gravy but I will always write for the reader and for the quality aspect.  If in the process I make some money...so be it! LOL! WB

I am hoping that my hubs will be of help to others around the world, however I do need to earn money which I do with kooday as well as getting more viewers for my hubs (have hub on kooday)
I enjoy writing even though I am not very good at it like a lot on here .
Hopefully I will improve with practice !

For fun. Creative outlet that nobody edits, free as can be. It's liberating.

I write for the pleasure of writing and, because as a Christian Writer I can share with others Almighty God and His love for us, and His plan for us to become one big happy family.

I love putting my thoughts to paper and expressing myself, hoping to help someone along the way or make them smile!

It gives me something to do. It allows me to share stories or information with others. I haven't been approved by adsense yet and I doubt I will make much money. But, to an out of work gal like me a few cents or dollars from sharing stories would be pretty awesome. However, I'm not expecting to make much or anything at all. I just like writing.

I write hubs for entertainment value.  My hubs tend to be straight to the point and full of pure entertainment, or at least, that is what I hope the content demonstrates.
