Setting Up a Blog Post on RedGage

What Is RedGage?

Before setting up a blog on RedGage, do you know what this site is? If you don’t know, here is the lowdown. RedGage is a bookmarking, social website that pays you for the content you have already created. Upload your blogs, photos, videos, documents or links from sites like Hubpages. Start making money every time someone views, rates or comments on your content. Redgage began in 2008.

Earn raffle tickets to go towards the daily contest by the amount of activity you do on RedGage. 2 raffle tickets are given out for your knowledge base content. 10 raffle tickets for mentioning RedGage on other websites and 20 raffle tickets for inviting a new user to RedGage

Make friends viewing, rating and commenting on someone else's content. This gets you noticed on RedGage just like any other site. Become one of the featured members and earn a bonus. Earn a referral income. Take part in the daily contest to make an additional income. The daily contest is a $25 bonus in your account. I have received a couple of these already without much effort.

Redgage is fun, easy, enjoyable and often a relaxing site that gives you backlinks to your webpage article sites or domains. I joined Redgage to promote and get backlinks to my Squidoo lenses.

Then when I became more active with HubPages for the 30 day challenge, I added my Hubs to RedGage for backlinks. Now, if you haven’t joined RedGage you are missing out. Join RedGage for backlinks today.

Upload Bar

This is where you fill in the information to start your blog on RedGage.
This is where you fill in the information to start your blog on RedGage.

Ready to Make a Blog Post

After you are signed in and ready to go, click on the “Upload” button. Hit the “Blog” symbol in the upper left corner. Fill in the blanks starting with the “Track Back Link” This would be the URL back to your site. Add a Description, Title and Tags. Then click on “Continue”.

You are now at the page where you write your blog post. Start writing, add a photo or links. When you are finished, click on “Upload” and there you go.

If you need to edit it, just click on edit, continue and fix your blog. It is that easy.

To clarify, this is a blog post where you write a single post. You can create as many post as you would like.

I created this blog post at RedGage while going through these very same steps titled "HubPages and My 30 Day Challenge" and can be found in my content or in collections under "Social Networks."There is no better time then to sign up for RedGage.

Link Versus Blog

A question was presented to me, what is the difference between a link and a blog?

A blog on redgage is a blog post where you write your article right on Redgage with a track back link to your site.

A Link is the URL that you upload to the article on HubPages or any other site. This will show the description that you have added and then the link going to the other site.

The copyright to this article is owned by Sandy Mertens (sandyspider). Permission to republish this article in print or online must be granted by the author in writing. (You can, however, freely use the opening introduction and photo with a link to the article here on HubPages to read the remainder of the article.)

Tenerife Islander, I have made more on RedGage than I have on HubPages. The more active you are there, the better change of many more money. I admit to not being active there lately too. But it just has to do with lack of time.

I am on RedGage as Bard of Ely and was quite excited about it when I joined but I find it very hard to make anything there so don't post as often as I used to.

Pamela99, that is terrible. I haven't had trouble logging in, but there are times where it is running slow or won't let me upload. Then I see the message that traffic is high and they are experiencing difficulties. Maybe they need more bandwidth.

    • Pamela99 profile image

Pamela Oglesby 7 years ago from United States

Sandy, I like Redgage but I have had continuous problems with logging in and they have emailed me promising me to fix the problem but they have not done so. It is frustrating.

Sandyspider, Interesting how this is progressing. I went over to RedGage yesterday and I do have an account, I have more than I can keep up with and most I never do much with. I notice with just a few (4 or 7) post that I had long forgotten I had earned a shocking amount of money. I'm clueless as to how to navigate around and look forward to reading this hub again and learning more from you. Thanks for the heads up! Thanks and Peace :)

mdlawyer, I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. No site is perfect. I have been able to use my rewards card a couple of times. As with any site, the more active you, are the better chance of making some money. It can take a bit to get to that next $25 level.

But the main thing that I concentrate on Redgage is getting the backlinks and traffic to my other sites.

Hi Sandyspider, that was a really great and informative hub.

    • mdlawyer profile image

I signed up a few months back with Redgage. I found it very cumbersome, the site and the proceudre. Also they lack transparency with regard to rewards. There is no uniform and transparent procedure. Hence I dropped. What they offer for 1000 page views is rediculously low.

shai77, I'm not sure if I am doing it right. When you have a blog post on Redgage it ask for a trackback. I always add the link to the site that I am writing about. Not necessary a blog site.

Everything else ask for a backlink. But when I write a blog post, I include other links in the blog too.

I think that most of the problems they have at RedGage are due to the enormous number of people joining there. It seems that everyone on HP is going also to RedGage. And probably it's the same on other writing sites. Very good hub Sandy. And thanks.:)

    • Sandyspider profile image

Sandy Mertens 8 years ago from Wisconsin, USA

Thank you for the clarification Marisa and your questions gramarye. I revised my hub to reflex the blog post and what is the difference between link and blog.

gramarye, I haven't uploaded a photo since I wrote about uploading a photo in Jan. 2010 on my Squidoo lens shown in a link above. But I didn't have a problem then. Lately I have been adding links and blog post. They have been going pretty smooth.

Karen, to answer your question: I don't know the exact date that Redgage started. But I do know that they began in 2008 (2 years ago), which I added in this hub. When I joined Redgage 8 months ago, they were still evolving. They had changed servers and at time it ran slow. But I haven't had any problems the last few months.

Sandyspider, thanks for the above information. I have signed up to Redgage, and I agree it is a good place to be.

Two questions though. Above you explain how to use the blog in redgage. What is the difference between using the blog and simply using the link feature?

Also, have you had trouble with their upload feature? When I try to upload photos, it very often seems to hang and won't work again until I log out and in again. I've only managed to upload 4 pictures out of about 20 tries - any similar problems?

Well explained! It would also be worth making it clear that what you're describing isn't really a "blog" as we think of it - it's a single blog post.

I think that's why most people get confused - they're looking for the place on Redgage where they start a whole blog, and then add numerous posts to it. I know that's what stumped me at first!
