Finally ready

Updated on May 5, 2013

The beginning

A few months ago I was just crawling the internet, can't remember why and innocently came across HubPages. Not sure what drove me to do it but i decided to sign up and leave a Hub about a discussion the struggle some friends and I had been having with film purchase at the moment.

Account setup

While looking around HubPages I possibly did what a lot of new comers do and signed myself up for as much as I could. Just following the instructions tried signing up for Google Adsense despite the fact that my one Hub was hardly a masterpiece.

Not really shockingly I was disapproved. and I thought nothing of it. and left it alone.

An early favourite

My YouTube Channel

At the same time I was happily working away on my YouTube Channel making my little films and forgetting about the Hub that I had written.

That was until I got an invite to apply to be a YouTube Partner 6 months later, this meaning that I needed to again apply to Google Adsense.

When I tried, they informed me politely, that my HubPages site is below standard and needs bringing up to there standards, so that I can attain the required approval and link my YouTube Channel to my Adsense account.

After visiting the Google forums and not really liking the options that were available to me, I decided to come back to HubPages and see what I could do.

What to write about?

What could I write about? No particular specialist subject, unless you want to hear about a wall of films and hours spent with Xbox controllers glued to my hands.

I decided to tell the stories of my YouTube Channel with Sumo Films now happily up and running, I wanted to tell others of how the doodles began. The adventures I'd had over the past 2 years to get to attaining that invite from them to apply for partnership.

The reason that the options on the Google forums were a definite no go area. So with a little trial and error. Constantly editing the Hubs to try and give them a better look, I think I'm slowly starting to get better at it and have started to sneak in a couple of other subjects.

If your in the same position

If like me your thinking what to do. Just keep with it and I'm sure you'll get there too. I'm now signed up to everything on the site here having got the "Congratulations" email from Google AdSense today (06/12/2012) also YouTube can sit there whilst I return to what I enjoy (Doodling).

And now that I have grown to enjoy this I can jump between the two and see what I can come up with.

Thanks for the advice. I've done some quick editing. And will have another look later.

@somethgblue I agree with the comment that the article is a missing something graphically. It just wasn't what I was aiming for with this one. I will and a link to another one of my my Hubs though I have one in mind.

Well first of all why don't you post a few of your YouTube videos on this article, so we can watch them. At least provide a link, screen capture or photos to liven up your article.

Maybe provide a poll and ask us if we have had similar experiences?

You have one link in your article, I personally add at least ten if not more throw some graphics on you page try to have some fun with it.
