Why is it that one of my hubs has 7 views even though I am still working on it?

The moderators are reading the material as you write it also these aren't solely you visits to the Hub but the Hub Page staff reading it as well.

The moderators aren't reading anything as you write it.  They've got enough to worry about with the stuff that is actually published.

Uh yes they are, they may not be there while you are typing but they read it before it is published.

Moderators do not review content before it is published unless your account has accumulated terms of service violations and you no longer have the Publish button for your Hubs.

Then explain how my Hubs get ten to twenty page views before I publish, when I write them I stay on it until it is done maybe two or three of my own views could be attributed no more.

Who is reading my Hubs before I publish them?

Do you "preview"?  It seems to count too.

You have NO idea how many hubs are reviewed/moderated each day.  They seriously don't have time to read what you are writing before you publish it.  I have no idea why they would want to either. No one wants to look at my aborted thought processes as I start and edit hubs just to delete them... No one wants to see yours either.

@Louise I checked into it and the total views do include the times you viewed it before it was published.

It took 7 of my own visits to complete my most recent Hub article which remains unpublished ATM but has 24 total page views, if the moderators are not reading this unpublished article, who is?

When you are editing it are you hitting preview while on the edit view?

(Here is where you say to yourself yes but don't admit to it because you are convinced that the hub pages staff are watching you write instead of working on the 1000+ new hubs/republished hubs each day)

When you hit preview within the editing screen it counts as a view even if you don't leave edit and go back in.  Which was already explained.

You seriously believe someone from HP read your unpublished hub 17 times?  Really?

Please tell me why you think they would do that.

            I asked a question I didn't write that I believed anything. Perhaps I need to type slower so that you understand me, my hub is unpublished ATM it has 24 page views 7 of those are mine, w h e r e  a r e   t h e  o t h e r   17 coming from? Do you understand the question?

I have never used the preview button in the year in half on Hub Pages, why would I need to preview something that is right in front of me?

The Hub just got two more page views since I wrote the previous questioned who is reading it while it is unpublished?

            Do you understand?

I am no longer editing it it is finished, I haven't touched it all day and yet it continues to get page views, they can't all be moderators but some one is reading it . .  who is it?

I know this will sound crazy to you but you know How I know it is unpublished . . . because get this it says . . .

              Hub Preview
              (This article is currently published)

right at the top of the Hub it plain English, crazy isn't it? Yet it now has 30 page views of which 7 of them are mine, that means that 23 mysterious readers have read my article "unpublished".

Please enlighten me . . . tell me what you believe?

I believe that HP stats don't update instantly.

I also believe that you really want to believe that the staff cares so much about you personally that they are now apparently working overtime just to read your unpublished hub.

I also believe that no matter how many times it is explained to you that you will hang on to your conspiracy theory no matter what...

So now I believe that I will not be answering any more questions as you apparently like your own answers better and aren't really reading anyone's posts anyway...

I also believe that you would be happier if you didn't believe that the world revolved around your belly-button.

Evidently being wrong scares you and understandable so consider you have the intellect of a 12 year old.

when you save it, it sends you to the hub,so those are supposed to be the views from you

When I was working on a particularly long and complex hub, which took about a week to complete, I managed to get in about 10 views from myself before it was published.

I noticed this too. When my camping hub was unpublished, the traffic for it almost doubled, now that it is re-published the traffic has dropped. I thought that was weird too. But, happy that some people were still able to see it.

I have to admit, the idea of the HubPages staff having not only the time, but the attention span, to sit there and read someone's Hubs as they're typing them is quite amusing. Now THAT is dedication! LOL

I've noticed this too, just always figured it was my hitting preview and editing multiple times. Good to know that's what it is! I think I'd have a panic attack if my unfinished projects were being viewed so regularly.

Matthew, is there any possibility HP could cajigger something so that our working on and previewing our Hubs is not counted in our viewing stats?
